Description
Maple Walnut Cheesecake Bars are a delightful dessert that combines the rich, creamy texture of cheesecake with the warm, sweet flavor of maple syrup and the crunch of walnuts.
Ingredients
Scale
- 200 grams graham cracker crumbs (about 2 cups)
- 100 grams unsalted butter, melted (about 1/2 cup)
- 50 grams granulated sugar (about 1/4 cup)
- 450 grams cream cheese, softened (about 16 oz)
- 150 grams maple syrup (about 1/2 cup)
- 100 grams crushed walnuts (about 1 cup)
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- A pinch of salt
Instructions
- Prepare the crust by combining graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and granulated sugar in a medium bowl. Press the mixture into the bottom of a lined baking pan and bake for 10 minutes.
- Make the cheesecake filling by beating softened cream cheese until smooth, then gradually adding maple syrup, followed by eggs, vanilla extract, and salt.
- Fold in the crushed walnuts into the cream cheese mixture.
- Pour the cheesecake filling over the cooled crust and bake for 25-30 minutes until the edges are set and the center has a slight jiggle.
- Cool at room temperature for 30 minutes, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving.
Notes
- Use softened cream cheese to avoid lumps.
- Avoid overmixing the filling to prevent cracks.
- Allow cooling time before refrigerating to prevent a soggy crust.
- Line the baking pan with parchment paper for easy removal.
- Check for doneness by ensuring the edges are set and the center jiggles slightly.
