Ingredients

  • Flank steak: 1.5 lbs (about 680 grams)
  • Soy sauce: 1/4 cup (60 ml)
  • Honey: 1/4 cup (60 ml)
  • Garlic: 4 cloves, minced
  • Fresh ginger: 1 tablespoon, grated
  • Olive oil: 2 tablespoons (30 ml)
  • Black pepper: 1 teaspoon
  • Salt: 1 teaspoon
  • Fresh parsley or cilantro: for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Marinate the flank steak in a resealable bag or shallow dish with the marinade for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
  2. Prepare the honey garlic sauce by whisking together soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, olive oil, black pepper, and salt in a medium bowl.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F or 200°C). Remove the steak from the marinade and discard the marinade.
  4. Grill the steak for about 5-7 minutes on each side until it reaches the desired doneness (medium-rare is around 135°F or 57°C).
  5. Let the steak rest for 5-10 minutes, then slice against the grain and serve with the remaining glaze and garnish.
