Description
A delightful dish that combines sweet and savory flavors, perfect for grilling and gatherings.
Ingredients
- Flank steak: 1.5 lbs (about 680 grams)
- Soy sauce: 1/4 cup (60 ml)
- Honey: 1/4 cup (60 ml)
- Garlic: 4 cloves, minced
- Fresh ginger: 1 tablespoon, grated
- Olive oil: 2 tablespoons (30 ml)
- Black pepper: 1 teaspoon
- Salt: 1 teaspoon
- Fresh parsley or cilantro: for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Marinate the flank steak in a resealable bag or shallow dish with the marinade for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
- Prepare the honey garlic sauce by whisking together soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, olive oil, black pepper, and salt in a medium bowl.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F or 200°C). Remove the steak from the marinade and discard the marinade.
- Grill the steak for about 5-7 minutes on each side until it reaches the desired doneness (medium-rare is around 135°F or 57°C).
- Let the steak rest for 5-10 minutes, then slice against the grain and serve with the remaining glaze and garnish.
Notes
- Choose a flank steak that is bright red with good marbling for the best flavor.
- Marinate for at least 2 hours, but overnight is ideal for deeper flavor.
- Be cautious not to marinate for more than 24 hours to avoid a mushy texture.
