Description
A classic Southern sandwich featuring crispy fried green tomatoes, bacon, lettuce, and tomato.
Ingredients

- 4 slices of bacon
- 2 green tomatoes, sliced
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 4 slices of bread
- 1 cup lettuce, shredded
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook the bacon in a skillet until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Dip the green tomato slices in buttermilk, then coat with cornmeal.
- Fry the coated tomato slices in the bacon grease until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
- Toast the bread slices in the same skillet until golden.
- Spread mayonnaise on each slice of bread.
- Assemble the sandwich with lettuce, fried green tomatoes, and bacon.
- Top with another slice of bread and slice in half to serve.
Notes
- Adjust the seasoning to your taste.
- Use ripe tomatoes for a sweeter flavor.
- Serve immediately for best texture.
