Description

Delicious autumn treat made with pumpkin, brown sugar, and pecans.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup pecans (chopped)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×9-inch baking pan.
  2. Mix the dry ingredients: flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Combine the wet ingredients: pumpkin puree, melted butter, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract in a large mixing bowl.
  4. Blend the wet and dry ingredients together until just combined.
  5. Add chopped pecans to the batter and pour it into the prepared baking dish.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before cutting into squares.

Notes

  • Use fresh sugar pumpkins for a richer flavor if desired.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature or refrigerate for up to a week.
