Delicious autumn treat made with pumpkin, brown sugar, and pecans.
Ingredients

- 1 cup pumpkin puree
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup pecans (chopped)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×9-inch baking pan.
- Mix the dry ingredients: flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in a bowl.
- Combine the wet ingredients: pumpkin puree, melted butter, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract in a large mixing bowl.
- Blend the wet and dry ingredients together until just combined.
- Add chopped pecans to the batter and pour it into the prepared baking dish.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before cutting into squares.
Notes
- Use fresh sugar pumpkins for a richer flavor if desired.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature or refrigerate for up to a week.
- Freeze for up to 3 months for longer storage.
