Description

A healthier version of traditional apple fritters made in an air fryer, featuring a crispy exterior and soft, apple-filled center.

Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour: 2 cups (240 g)
  • Granulated sugar: 1/4 cup (50 g) plus extra for dusting
  • Baking powder: 2 teaspoons
  • Ground cinnamon: 1 teaspoon
  • Salt: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Milk: 1/2 cup (120 ml)
  • Large eggs: 2
  • Diced apples: 1 cup (about 2 medium apples)
  • Vanilla extract: 1 teaspoon
  • Powdered sugar: for dusting

Instructions

  1. Prepare the apples by washing, peeling, coring, and chopping them into small pieces.
  2. Make the batter by mixing the dry ingredients in a large bowl.
  3. Combine the wet ingredients in a separate bowl and then mix with the dry ingredients.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Shape the fritters by dropping spoonfuls of batter into the air fryer basket.
  6. Air fry the fritters for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  7. Dust the cooked fritters with powdered sugar while they are still warm.

Notes

  • Choose firm and slightly tart apples for the best flavor.
  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar to the batter.
  • Ensure even cooking by not overcrowding the air fryer basket.
