Description

Crispy phyllo pastry filled with spinach and feta cheese.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package of phyllo dough (16 oz)
  • 2 cups fresh spinach, chopped
  • 1 cup feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Add onion and garlic; sauté until soft.
  4. Add chopped spinach; cook until wilted.
  5. Remove from heat; stir in feta cheese and beaten egg.
  6. Season with salt and pepper.
  7. Lay out a sheet of phyllo dough; brush with olive oil.
  8. Place a spoonful of the spinach mixture on one end; fold into a triangle.
  9. Repeat with remaining dough and filling.
  10. Place triangles on a baking sheet; brush tops with olive oil.
  11. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

  • Keep phyllo covered with a damp cloth to prevent drying out.
  • Can be served warm or at room temperature.
  • Pair with a yogurt dip for extra flavor.
