Ingredients

- 1 cup grits
- 4 cups water
- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 slices bacon, chopped
- 1/2 cup onion, diced
- 1/2 cup bell pepper, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup green onions, sliced
Instructions
- Bring water to a boil in a saucepan.
- Add grits, reduce heat, and simmer for 20-25 minutes.
- In a skillet, cook bacon until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- In the same skillet, add onion, bell pepper, and garlic. Sauté until soft.
- Add shrimp and Cajun seasoning. Cook until shrimp turn pink.
- Stir in butter and cooked bacon. Mix well.
- Serve shrimp mixture over grits and garnish with green onions.
Notes
- Use low-sodium broth instead of water for added flavor.
- Adjust Cajun seasoning to your spice preference.
- For a creamier texture, add cheese to the grits.
