Description

Homemade sourdough pop tarts filled with jam.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup sourdough starter
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup fruit jam
  • 1 egg, for egg wash

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt.
  2. Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
  3. Add sourdough starter and milk, mix until dough forms.
  4. Chill the dough for 30 minutes.
  5. Roll out the dough on a floured surface.
  6. Cut into rectangles.
  7. Place jam on half of the rectangles.
  8. Top with remaining rectangles and seal edges.
  9. Brush with egg wash.
  10. Bake at 350°F for 25 minutes.

Notes

  • Use any fruit jam of your choice.
  • Store in an airtight container.
  • Can be frozen for later use.
