Description
Homemade sourdough pop tarts filled with jam.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup sourdough starter
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/2 cup fruit jam
- 1 egg, for egg wash
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt.
- Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
- Add sourdough starter and milk, mix until dough forms.
- Chill the dough for 30 minutes.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface.
- Cut into rectangles.
- Place jam on half of the rectangles.
- Top with remaining rectangles and seal edges.
- Brush with egg wash.
- Bake at 350°F for 25 minutes.
Notes
- Use any fruit jam of your choice.
- Store in an airtight container.
- Can be frozen for later use.
