Ingredients

- 1 cup sourdough discard
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract; mix well.
- Stir in the sourdough discard until combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture; mix until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
- Store cookies in an airtight container.
- You can add nuts or dried fruit for variation.
- Chill the dough for better flavor.
