Description

Delicious bagels made using sourdough discard.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups sourdough discard
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine sourdough discard, flour, sugar, salt, and baking soda.
  3. Add warm water and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes.
  5. Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces.
  6. Shape each piece into a ball and poke a hole in the center to form a bagel.
  7. Bring a pot of water to a boil. Boil each bagel for 1-2 minutes.
  8. Place the boiled bagels on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Let cool before serving.
