A delicious sourdough cornbread that combines tangy sourdough with sweet cornmeal.

- 1 cup sourdough starter
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large bowl, mix the sourdough starter, cornmeal, and milk.
- In another bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir until combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk eggs and oil together.
- Fold the egg mixture into the batter until smooth.
- Pour the batter into a greased baking pan.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
- Let the cornbread cool for a few minutes before slicing.
- Serve warm with butter.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container.
