- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 pound smoked sausage, sliced
- 2 cups long-grain rice
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 bell pepper, chopped
- 2 celery stalks, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add onion, bell pepper, and celery; sauté until softened.
- Stir in garlic and sausage; cook until sausage is browned.
- Add shrimp, Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper; cook until shrimp turns pink.
- Add rice and chicken broth; bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes or until rice is cooked.
- Fluff rice with a fork and serve hot.
Notes
- Use fresh shrimp for best flavor.
- Adjust seasoning to taste.
- Let leftovers cool before storing in the fridge.
