Ingredients
- Ground beef: 1 lb (450 g)
- Corn tortillas: 8 small tortillas
- Olive oil: 1 tablespoon
- Onion: 1 small, finely chopped
- Garlic: 2 cloves, minced
- Taco seasoning: 2 tablespoons
- Water: 1/4 cup (60 ml)
- Salt: to taste
- Fresh tomatoes: 1 cup, diced (optional)
- Lettuce: 1 cup, shredded (optional)
- Shredded cheese: 1 cup (optional)
- Lime: 1 lime, cut into wedges (optional)
- Fresh cilantro: for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sauté chopped onion and minced garlic for 3-4 minutes until translucent.
- Add ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart as it cooks. Stir occasionally until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in taco seasoning and water, mixing well. Let it simmer for 5 minutes, adjusting salt to taste.
- Warm corn tortillas in a skillet or microwave.
- Assemble tacos by filling tortillas with beef mixture and topping with diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, and cheese.
- Serve with lime wedges and fresh cilantro on the side.
