  • Corn tortillas: 8 small tortillas
  • Olive oil: 1 tablespoon
  • Onion: 1 small, finely chopped
  • Garlic: 2 cloves, minced
  • Taco seasoning: 2 tablespoons
  • Water: 1/4 cup (60 ml)
  • Salt: to taste
  • Fresh tomatoes: 1 cup, diced (optional)
  • Lettuce: 1 cup, shredded (optional)
  • Shredded cheese: 1 cup (optional)
  • Lime: 1 lime, cut into wedges (optional)
  • Fresh cilantro: for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sauté chopped onion and minced garlic for 3-4 minutes until translucent.
  2. Add ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart as it cooks. Stir occasionally until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in taco seasoning and water, mixing well. Let it simmer for 5 minutes, adjusting salt to taste.
  4. Warm corn tortillas in a skillet or microwave.
  5. Assemble tacos by filling tortillas with beef mixture and topping with diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, and cheese.
