Description
Pickled red onions add a tangy crunch to many dishes.
Ingredients

- 2 large red onions, thinly sliced
- 1 cup white vinegar
- 1 cup water
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon salt
Instructions
- Slice the red onions thinly.
- In a saucepan, combine vinegar, water, sugar, and salt.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.
- Add the sliced onions to the saucepan.
- Remove from heat and let cool.
- Transfer the mixture to a jar and refrigerate.
- Allow to pickle for at least 1 hour before serving.
Notes
- These can last up to 2 weeks in the refrigerator.
- Adjust sugar and salt to taste.
- Great on tacos, sandwiches, and salads.
