Moist Apple Date Molasses Cake with Hot Sauce

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to cream the softened butter and brown sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
- Beat in the molasses, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Gently fold in the diced apples and chopped dates until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
- Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then, transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cooled, slice the cake and serve it on a plate. Drizzle with hot sauce on the side for a unique flavor combination. Enjoy!
