Ingredients

  • Mini onions – 10
  • All-purpose flour – 1 cup
  • Cornstarch – 1/2 cup
  • Beer – 1 cup
  • Baking powder – 1 tsp
  • Salt – 1 tsp
  • Paprika – 1 tsp
  • Black pepper – 1/2 tsp
  • Oil for frying – 2 cups

Instructions

  1. Peel the mini onions and trim the tops.
  2. Mix flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, paprika, and black pepper in a bowl.
  3. Slowly add beer to the dry ingredients to form a batter.
  4. Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Dip each onion in the batter, letting excess drip off.
  6. Carefully place the onions in hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
  7. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  8. Serve with dipping sauce.
