Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package (25 oz) cheese-filled ravioli (fresh or frozen)
- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish

- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned, then drain excess fat. Add onion and garlic, sauté for 3-4 minutes.
- Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce in a 9×13 inch baking dish, then layer half of the ravioli, half of the beef mixture, half of the ricotta, and half of the marinara sauce. Top with 1 cup of mozzarella cheese.
- Repeat the layering process with the remaining ravioli, beef mixture, ricotta, and marinara sauce.
- Top with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes, then remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden brown. Let sit for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a vegetarian option, replace ground beef with sautéed vegetables.
- Allow the casserole to rest after baking for better slicing.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days in the refrigerator.
