Description

A delightful casserole combining layers of cheesy ravioli, savory ground beef, and rich marinara sauce, perfect for family gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 package (25 oz) cheese-filled ravioli (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned, then drain excess fat. Add onion and garlic, sauté for 3-4 minutes.
  3. Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce in a 9×13 inch baking dish, then layer half of the ravioli, half of the beef mixture, half of the ricotta, and half of the marinara sauce. Top with 1 cup of mozzarella cheese.
  4. Repeat the layering process with the remaining ravioli, beef mixture, ricotta, and marinara sauce.
  5. Top with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  6. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes, then remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden brown. Let sit for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian option, replace ground beef with sautéed vegetables.
  • Allow the casserole to rest after baking for better slicing.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days in the refrigerator.
