Ingredients

- Cream cheese: 8 oz (226 g), softened
- Unsalted butter: ¼ cup (57 g), softened
- Powdered sugar: 2 cups (240 g)

- Maple syrup: 2 tablespoons (30 ml)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened unsalted butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the maple syrup, eggs, and vanilla extract to the butter and sugar mixture and beat until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix on low speed until just combined.
- Gently fold in the chopped pecans into the batter.
- Divide the batter among the cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full, and bake for 18-20 minutes.
- While the cupcakes are baking, prepare the cream cheese frosting by beating the softened cream cheese and unsalted butter until smooth, then gradually add powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and maple syrup.
- Once the cupcakes are cool, frost them with the cream cheese frosting and sprinkle additional chopped pecans on top.
