A delicious recipe for juicy beef kofta served with a refreshing yogurt sauce, perfect for gatherings or family dinners.
Ingredients
- Ground beef: 500 grams (1 lb)
- Onion: 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- Garlic: 3 cloves, minced
- Fresh parsley: 1/4 cup, finely chopped
- Fresh mint: 1/4 cup, finely chopped
- Ground cumin: 1 teaspoon
- Ground coriander: 1 teaspoon
- Paprika: 1 teaspoon
- Salt: 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper: 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil: 1 tablespoon
- Skewers: 4-6
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, onion, garlic, parsley, mint, cumin, coriander, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
- Divide the mixture into 6 to 8 equal portions and shape each into elongated cylinders around the skewers.
- Preheat the grill or grill pan over medium-high heat and brush with olive oil. Cook the kofta for 4-5 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through.
- While the kofta rests, prepare the yogurt sauce by mixing yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, lemon juice, and salt in a bowl.
Notes
- For added heat, consider adding chili flakes to the kofta mixture.
- Soak wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes before grilling to prevent burning.
- Marinating the kofta mixture for a few hours can enhance the flavor.
