Description
A traditional Hungarian dish featuring chicken simmered in a rich, creamy paprika sauce.
Ingredients

- 2 lbs chicken, cut into pieces
- 2 tablespoons paprika
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 bell pepper, sliced
- 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add onions and cook until soft.
- Stir in garlic and bell pepper; cook for 2 minutes.
- Add chicken and brown on all sides.
- Sprinkle paprika, salt, and pepper over chicken.
- Add tomatoes and simmer for 30 minutes.
- Stir in sour cream until well combined.
- Cook for an additional 10 minutes.
- Serve over egg noodles or rice.
Notes
- Adjust paprika for desired spiciness.
- Serve with fresh bread for dipping.
- Can be made a day ahead for better flavor.
