Ingredients

- 4 large potatoes, peeled and grated
- 1 onion, grated
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- Grate the potatoes and onion.
- In a bowl, mix grated potatoes, onion, egg, flour, salt, and pepper.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Drop spoonfuls of the mixture into the pan and flatten slightly.
- Fry until golden brown on both sides, about 4-5 minutes each side.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot with applesauce or sour cream.
Notes
- Use starchy potatoes for best results.
- Ensure oil is hot before adding the pancakes.
