Garlic Butter Shrimp Pasta is a delightful dish that combines the rich flavors of garlic, succulent shrimp, and perfectly cooked pasta, making it a quick and impressive meal.
Ingredients
- Spaghetti: 250 grams (about 8 ounces)
- Large shrimp: 400 grams (about 14 ounces), peeled and deveined
- Unsalted butter: 100 grams (about 7 tablespoons)
- Garlic: 4 cloves, minced
- Olive oil: 2 tablespoons
- Lemon juice: from 1 lemon
- Fresh parsley: 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Salt: to taste
- Black pepper: to taste
- Red pepper flakes: optional, to taste
- Lemon wedges: for serving
- Whole garlic cloves: for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare all ingredients: peel and devein shrimp, mince garlic, and chop parsley.
- Cook spaghetti in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil and half of the butter over medium heat. Sauté minced garlic until fragrant.
- Add shrimp to the skillet, season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes, and cook until pink and opaque, about 4-6 minutes total. Remove shrimp and set aside.
- Add remaining butter and lemon juice to the skillet, then toss in the drained spaghetti, adding reserved pasta water as needed for a silky sauce.
- Return shrimp to the skillet, add chopped parsley, and toss everything together until well combined and heated through.
Notes
- Experiment with different types of pasta like fettuccine or linguine.
- Fresh ingredients enhance flavor; consider adding seasonal vegetables.
- For a spicy version, increase red pepper flakes or add fresh jalapeños.
