- 4 large onions, thinly sliced
- 4 cups beef broth
- 1 cup grated Gruyère cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions
- Heat olive oil and butter in a large pan over medium heat.
- Add sliced onions and cook until caramelized, about 20 minutes.
- Stir in thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Add beef broth and bring to a simmer.
- Mix in the cooked rice and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
- Transfer to a baking dish and top with Gruyère cheese.
- Bake at 375°F for 15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
