- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract; mix well.
- In another bowl, combine the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until combined.
- Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking dish.
- In a small bowl, mix together the cinnamon and sugar for the topping.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the batter.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let cool before cutting into bars.
Notes
- Store bars in an airtight container for up to a week.
- For a richer flavor, use brown sugar only.
- You can add nuts or chocolate chips for variety.
