Description

A simple recipe for making seitan teriyaki at home.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup seitan, sliced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Mix soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger in a bowl.
  2. Heat a pan over medium heat and add the seitan.
  3. Pour the sauce over the seitan and cook for 5 minutes.
  4. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with water and add to the pan.
  5. Stir until the sauce thickens, about 2 minutes.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

  • Adjust sweetness by adding more or less sugar.
  • Serve with rice or noodles.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
