This is a simple recipe for homemade white bread that you can make with minimal ingredients.

- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 1 1/2 cups warm water
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm water and sugar. Add yeast and let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- Add salt and oil to the yeast mixture.
- Gradually add flour, mixing until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour.
- Punch down the dough, shape it into a loaf, and place it in a greased loaf pan.
- Cover and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 30-35 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and let cool before slicing.
Notes
- Store bread in an airtight container.
- For added flavor, you can mix in herbs or garlic powder.
- Make sure water is warm, not hot, to activate yeast.
