Description
Crispy and soft on the inside, these French bread rolls are perfect for any meal.
Ingredients

- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ cups warm water
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 tablespoon sugar
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit until frothy.
- In a large bowl, combine flour and salt.
- Add the yeast mixture to the flour and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover it. Let it rise for 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
- Punch down the dough and divide it into small rolls.
- Place the rolls on a baking sheet and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Make a few slashes on top of each roll.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
- Store rolls in a paper bag to keep them crusty.
- Can be frozen for later use.
