Ingredients

- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar.
- Add vanilla and eggs to the butter mixture; mix well.
- Gradually add flour mixture; stir until combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips and nuts.
- Drop by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake for 9-11 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes, then transfer to wire racks.
Notes
- Store cookies in an airtight container.
- Best enjoyed fresh but can be frozen for later.
