Description

Cinnamon Sugar Pumpkin Donuts are a delightful treat that captures the essence of fall with their warm spices and rich pumpkin flavor.

Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour: 2 cups (240 g)
  • Pumpkin puree: 1 cup (240 g)
  • Brown sugar: 3/4 cup (150 g), packed
  • Eggs: 2 large
  • Ground cinnamon: 1 teaspoon
  • Ground nutmeg: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Baking powder: 2 teaspoons
  • Baking soda: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Milk: 1/2 cup (120 ml)
  • Vegetable oil: 1/4 cup (60 ml)
  • Granulated sugar: 1/2 cup (100 g)
  • Ground cinnamon: 1 tablespoon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your donut pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. In another bowl, mix the wet ingredients: pumpkin puree, brown sugar, eggs, milk, and vegetable oil until smooth.
  4. Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
  5. Fill each donut cavity about 2/3 full with the batter.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes until they spring back when pressed and a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Prepare the cinnamon sugar coating by mixing granulated sugar and ground cinnamon in a small bowl.
  8. Let the donuts cool for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  9. Brush each donut with melted butter or spray with cooking spray, then roll in the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated.

Notes

  • Use sugar pumpkins or canned pumpkin puree for the best flavor.
  • Aim for a thick but pourable batter; add milk if too thick.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days or freeze for up to three months.
