- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Prepare the crust by mixing flour, cocoa powder, and salt in a medium bowl. In a separate bowl, combine melted butter and brown sugar, then add eggs one at a time.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and stir until just combined. Pour into a prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
- While the crust bakes, whisk together eggs, brown sugar, and vanilla extract for the filling. Fold in chopped pecans and chocolate chips.
- After 15 minutes, check the crust and pour the filling over it. Spread evenly.
- Bake for an additional 25 to 30 minutes until the filling is set. Let cool on a wire rack for at least 30 minutes before cutting into squares.
