Description

Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crust by mixing flour, cocoa powder, and salt in a medium bowl. In a separate bowl, combine melted butter and brown sugar, then add eggs one at a time.
  2. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and stir until just combined. Pour into a prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  3. While the crust bakes, whisk together eggs, brown sugar, and vanilla extract for the filling. Fold in chopped pecans and chocolate chips.
  4. After 15 minutes, check the crust and pour the filling over it. Spread evenly.
  5. Bake for an additional 25 to 30 minutes until the filling is set. Let cool on a wire rack for at least 30 minutes before cutting into squares.
