- 1 pie crust
- 4 large onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 cup grated cheese (like Gruyère or goat cheese)
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup heavy cream
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add the onions, salt, and sugar. Cook until onions are caramelized, about 25 minutes.
- Roll out the pie crust and place it in a tart pan.
- Spread the caramelized onions evenly over the crust.
- In a bowl, whisk together eggs and heavy cream. Pour over the onions.
- Top with grated cheese.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, until the tart is set and golden.
- Let cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

- Serve warm or at room temperature.
