Description

A delightful dessert that combines the sweetness of apples with the rich flavor of caramel, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • Rolled oats: 2 cups
  • All-purpose flour: 1 cup
  • Brown sugar: 1 cup, packed
  • Unsalted butter: 1/2 cup (1 stick), melted
  • Ground cinnamon: 1 teaspoon
  • Apples: 4 medium, peeled, cored, and diced (about 4 cups)
  • Caramel sauce: 1 cup (store-bought or homemade)
  • Vanilla extract: 1 teaspoon
  • Salt: 1/4 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Prepare the apple filling by combining diced apples with 1/4 cup of brown sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon, and vanilla extract in a large bowl. Toss until well coated and set aside.
  2. Make the crisp topping by mixing rolled oats, all-purpose flour, remaining 3/4 cup of brown sugar, melted butter, 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon, and salt in another bowl until crumbly.
  3. Assemble the bars by pressing half of the oat mixture into the bottom of a prepared baking dish, spreading the apple mixture over it, drizzling half of the caramel sauce, and topping with the remaining oat mixture.
  4. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 30-35 minutes until the top is golden brown and apples are tender.
  5. Let cool for 15 minutes, then drizzle the remaining caramel sauce over the top and allow to cool completely before slicing.
