Ingredients

- 1 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 packet active dry yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup baking soda
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- Coarse sea salt for topping
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit until foamy.
- Add flour and salt, mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Divide the dough into small pieces and roll into bites.
- In a pot, boil water and baking soda. Add pretzel bites for 30 seconds.
- Place bites on a baking sheet, brush with egg, and sprinkle with salt.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
- Serve warm for best taste.
- Dip in mustard or cheese sauce.
