Description

A layered dessert combining sponge cake, pastry cream, and chocolate ganache.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package of sponge cake, cut into cubes
  • 2 cups of pastry cream
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 1 cup of chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pastry cream and let it cool.
  2. Melt the chocolate chips with heavy cream over low heat to make ganache.
  3. Layer sponge cake cubes at the bottom of a trifle dish.
  4. Add a layer of pastry cream on top of the sponge cake.
  5. Add a layer of ganache on top of the pastry cream.
  6. Repeat the layers until the dish is full.
  7. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

  • Use store-bought sponge cake for convenience.
  • Adjust the sweetness of the pastry cream to your taste.
  • Top with whipped cream for extra flavor.
