Description
Apple Date Cinnamon Pudding with Creamy Toffee is a warm and comforting dessert that combines the sweetness of apples and dates with a rich toffee sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups apples, peeled and diced (about 2–3 medium apples)
- 1 cup pitted dates, chopped
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round baking dish or a similar-sized oven-safe bowl.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the diced apples and chopped dates. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Set aside.
- In a separate bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and milk. Whisk until smooth and well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Gently fold in the apple and date mixture until evenly distributed.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- While the pudding is baking, make the creamy toffee sauce. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the brown sugar and butter. Stir until melted and smooth. Gradually add the heavy cream, stirring continuously until the mixture is well combined and slightly thickened. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Once the pudding is baked, remove it from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Serve warm, drizzled with the creamy toffee sauce.
- This pudding is perfect for a cozy dessert or a special occasion.
Notes
- For added texture, consider adding chopped nuts such as walnuts or pecans to the pudding mixture.
- Make sure to use ripe apples for the best flavor and sweetness.
- Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave before serving.
