- 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and diced
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, combine the melted butter, milk, egg, and vanilla extract, then mix well.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
- In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and ground cinnamon for the filling.
- Roll the dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick and sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture over it.
- Distribute the diced apples and nuts over the dough, then roll it into a tight log and slice into 1-inch thick pieces.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
- Place the sliced rolls in the dish and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Let the rolls cool for 5 minutes before drizzling with the cream cheese glaze.
