Description
A delicious and easy-to-make dish that combines savory chicken with sweet and tangy apple cider, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 chicken thighs (bone-in, skin-on)
- 1 cup apple cider
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme (or 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped)
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken thighs in a mixture of apple cider, minced garlic, and thyme for at least 30 minutes.
- Prepare the glaze by combining apple cider, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, and thyme in a saucepan and simmering until the sugar dissolves.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet and sear the marinated chicken thighs skin-side down until golden brown.
- Add the glaze to the skillet, cover, and simmer for 20-25 minutes until the chicken is cooked through.
- Remove the lid, increase heat, and let the glaze reduce for 5-10 minutes, basting the chicken occasionally.
- Serve the chicken on a platter, drizzled with remaining glaze and garnished with fresh thyme.
Notes
- For maximum flavor, marinate the chicken overnight.
- Consider using organic or free-range chicken for better taste.
- Experiment with adding fruits like sliced apples or pears to the glaze.
- Adjust cooking times if using different cuts of chicken.
