Description
A delightful side dish combining the natural sweetness of carrots with the rich flavor of maple syrup, cooked to perfection in an air fryer.
Ingredients
- Fresh carrots: 500 grams (about 1 pound), peeled and cut into uniform sticks.
- Maple syrup: 4 tablespoons.
- Olive oil: 2 tablespoons.
- Salt: 1 teaspoon.
- Black pepper: 1/2 teaspoon.
- Fresh thyme: 1 tablespoon, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried thyme).
Instructions
- Prepare the Carrots: Peel and cut the carrots into uniform sticks, about 1/2 inch thick.
- Mix the Maple Glaze: In a large mixing bowl, combine maple syrup, olive oil, salt, black pepper, and chopped fresh thyme. Whisk until well blended.
- Coat the Carrots: Add the carrot sticks to the bowl with the glaze and toss until evenly coated.
- Air Fry the Carrots: Preheat the air fryer to 200°C (400°F) for about 5 minutes. Place the glazed carrots in a single layer in the air fryer basket and cook for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
- Serve and Enjoy: Once golden brown and glossy, remove the carrots from the air fryer, garnish with fresh thyme if desired, and serve warm.
Notes
- Overcrowding the basket can lead to uneven cooking.
- Preheating the air fryer is crucial for achieving crispy texture.
- Check for doneness a few minutes before the suggested cooking time.
- Always use fresh, firm carrots for the best results.
